Pratt Sculpture Studio Gates
Pratt Fine Arts Center
Seattle, WA
(2004)
Built with hand-forged steel, carved stone, and cast bronze, the gates represent the materials, techniques, and skills that are taught and practiced in the school’s sculpture department. Construction of the gate doors was carried out by advanced students as a special class project, and the principals of 12th Ave Iron served as project artists, instructors, and managers. The double gate doors stand at 10 ft. high x 8 ft. wide, and weigh roughly 800 lbs. each.
